The First Week of Chaos and Code
July 25, 2026
Before we start, I want to say this to anyone expecting a traditional, formal blog: you’re in the wrong place. Since this is my very first post—where I’ll just be introducing myself and talking about my first week—I've decided to keep things light.
For those who don't know me, I'm Swayam (which actually translates to "self" in Sanskrit). Academically, I'm a Data Science student who woke up one day and decided, "Hey! Let’s make a website." The goal is to have a space where I can publish my work and projects—whether they're educational, silly, or completely meaningless-yet-fun. I figured while I’m at it, I might as well write weekly blogs to talk about what I’ve been doing, hold myself accountable for my targets, and most importantly, just be myself.
This past week was absolute chaos! I had my cricket, football, and rugby tournaments. (Don’t ask me how it went, because we lost in the quarter-finals.) Between all that rushing around, I still had to keep up with my Python lectures. Honestly, I had zero energy left to start something totally new, so I decided to revise and refine my previous projects instead.
Yes, that might sound like a convenient excuse for not progressing further, but I feel there’s a silver lining here. There is a huge difference between just completing a course and actually learning a new skill. Anyone can finish a course on time, but implementing what you've learned? That's not everyone’s cup of tea.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the projects I brushed up on this week:
-
Tip Calculator:
A basic Python program that calculates the exact tip percentage for your bill.
View Code -
Pizza Order:
This program simulates your pizza ordering experience, where every option you select dynamically
updates your final bill.
View Code -
Roller Coaster:
A simulation of the rollercoaster ticket-buying process. (You'll have to try it yourself to get a
better understanding!)
View Code -
Treasure Game: A text-based adventure built on the logic from the Pizza and Roller
Coaster programs. You have to choose your paths, and they might—or might not—lead you to
the treasure.
View Code -
Rock-Paper-Scissors:
The classic hand-gesture game, brought to life using Python and the
random library.
View Code -
Password Generator:
A Python program that generates passwords based on your unique requirements.
Want all characters, numbers, special characters, and symbols? I’ve got you covered!
