Egos, Exes, and Coding Through the Chaos

August 15, 2026

Dayyymmm.

This week has been quite a lot more than I expected! I almost forgot today was Saturday. Almost missed publishing day and broke my streak of consistently uploading. But fear not, the streak lives on. 😎😅

First of all, take a second to look around. How does it feel to go from that boring, 1990s black-text-on-white-background to this sleek UI/UX? Notice those crisp blue links? The neat little interactive sections? Yeah, I know. I’m the best. 😎 Most of you are probably reading this on your phone right now, so do yourself a favor: go click that "Desktop Site" checkbox in your browser to witness my true piece of art properly. DO IT!

As I said, a lot happened this week. I was actually going to drop a surprise mid-week blog on August 13th because the sheer amount of heavy lifting I did that day was unhinged. Nothing about that Thursday was normal.

It started with me sleeping like a total drunkard because of my ongoing hospital meds (I still haven't fully recuperated). Naturally, I missed my alarm and skipped college... so I grabbed my shoes and headed for a jog. Yes, a sick man jogging instead of resting in bed. It was actually pretty refreshing right up until I got back and received some news that completely ruined my mood. But let's skip those shitty details.

Let's talk about the upcoming events instead. We’ve been having some massive communication issues with the committee management. Trying to take action as an event head has been getting more and more difficult. It was insanely frustrating, but ‘NO CAN DO’ isn't in my vocabulary. On the brighter side, the roadblocks just made me more determined to make sure VibeHack becomes the highlight of our three committee events.

Is this my ego talking? Maybe. Some people say it’s a bad habit of mine to have such a competitive ego. Maybe they are correct from their POVs. But honestly, I like challenging people. It's who I’ve always been. It’s my way of showing respect. It’s my way of saying I look at you as an equal. Deal with it.

Anyway, later that day, a random thought crossed my mind: Am I running a ghost website? Are there actual human beings reading my blogs? Where do my visitors even come from? 😭😭😭

Back in my WIX era (when I used drag-and-drop instead of beating code into submission), I had all these fancy traffic charts. I could see the number of visitors, SEO rankings, and a literal map plotting where everyone lived. That fascinated me. I used to get visitors from different parts of India, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Sri Lanka. But my favorite was a random visitor from Romania! All the way across the Mediterranean and Black Sea! That was my small, sweet moment of joy. Now? I want that feature back. So I am currently looking into ways to add custom analytics to this site.

Speaking of adding features, go check my About page. I added a ‘Contact Me’ section. Yep, another new thing I learned this week: receiving, handling, and storing form data straight from my own website. Tbh, it was quite easy considering how absolutely goated I am. At this point, it feels like I might accidentally become a decent full-stack web dev with all these side quests. 😅

To any recruiters reading this (assuming the day comes where my aura grows so massive that they come to me instead of the other way around): don’t think of this as me pivoting away from Data Science to Web Dev. It's just my inner child finding joy in learning new things—especially things completely outside my field.

Once, this hyper-fixation habit of mine led me down a massive rabbit hole learning about NGOs, taxes, and different types of investments. Things got so out of hand that while talking to my ex (who was a CA aspirant back then), I casually started dropping commerce terminologies from her syllabus. She was genuinely surprised that a tech guy with zero commerce background knew that stuff. It was honestly one of the best emotional compliments I’ve ever received. So, by the rarest of rare chances you are reading this... thanks for the compliment.

Believe it or not, all of this is just 40% of what happened on Thursday alone. I couldn't write the blog that day thanks to my elite-yet-dumb forgetful brain. But koina (no worries), I forgot most of the stuff I was going to write about anyway.

As they say: With great elite multitasking abilities comes small forgetfulness.

Word of wisdom. See you next week!

If this chaos somehow resonated with you, go bother a friend with the link.
