Sprinting Through Exams, Hackathons, and F1 Heartbreak

August 23, 2026

Remember last week when I said I was looking into analytics?

Boom. Done. Go look at the About section! See? I actually do what I say I will. 😏

“What kinda man are you if you can't live up to your words?” 🗿

...Now, I know some of you are giving me a massive side-eye right now, murmuring, “Says the guy posting this on a Sunday instead of Saturday.”

Look, let me explain.

This week has been utterly exhausting in the best way possible. I did so much that my head has been spinning for three days straight, and I can barely remember my own name right now. But let me try to brush up a summary for you before I literally pass out on my keyboard.

For starters, I finally watched Spider-Man: BND at SkyCity’s Insignia. I’ve wanted to experience the hype for the longest time, and let me tell you, paying for this absolute cinematic luxury entirely with my own money made it feel like a massive personal win. You literally get to play billiards in the lounge beforehand!!! and once you get inside, you sink into these massive recliner chairs with actual cushions and blankets. Dayyymmm it was good. Honestly, sitting in that pure, unadulterated comfort unlocked a new level of motivation for me. I gotta grind and build a career so massive that Insignia doesn’t even feel like a rare treat anymore—it just becomes my standard Tuesday. But right before I could fully embrace my future millionaire era, reality hit hard: College internal exams from August 20th to 22nd.

Fun fact for those who don’t know me: I am a notoriously slow writer. Almost every exam I've ever taken gets submitted half-finished simply because my writing pace is tragic. Nevertheless, my sheer elite smartness and epic creativity ensure that I secure 100% of the marks for the sections I do attempt. This is exactly why people roll their eyes when I walk out of the hall saying, “Mera paper thik-thak gaya”, and then I end up scoring near the top anyway. (Massive flexxxxxxxx, I know). But seriously, how do I convince them the paper genuinely wasn't great just because I didn't have the time to write down the answers I actually knew?!

But August 22nd was different. I had a hackathon to get to.

Driven by pure, unfiltered adrenaline, I actually finished my paper before everyone else, dropped my pen, and literally sprinted for the hackathon venue. I made it with exactly 15 minutes to spare before they closed the gates.

And honestly? The hackathon was damn good! The problem statement, the event handling—everything was spotless. Did I make the top 3 winning teams? No. But honestly, just showing up and surviving the day was a win. Plus, I absorbed so much about new models, firmware, IDEs, and libraries. But the biggest takeaway wasn't technical; it was about how to think.

During the opening ceremony, the chief guest dropped a quote that actually stuck with me. I was half-asleep, so I'm heavily paraphrasing here, but the core idea was this:

"In the age of AI, your technical background matters way less than your ability to approach, brainstorm, and break down a problem. AI is just a tool to help you fabricate and execute your ideas—it cannot do the thinking for you. Your project is a reflection of your own brain, not the AI you used."

That hit hard.

Anyway, I finally dragged my lifeless body back home at 10:30 POST MERIDIEM! and collapsed onto my bed like a dead man. Which is why I completely missed Saturday’s publishing window.

You know, I actually had a massive surprise planned for you guys this week. I was going to drop a data project on the Dutch GP. My plan was to pull all the live F1 data—driver and constructor standings, millisecond-level pitstop granularity, race strategies—straight from the source. The goal was to build a model to analyze the data and predict the Dutch GP’s outcome.

But fate had other plans... Max Verstappen DNF’d. 😭

My disappointment is immeasurable, and my weekend is ruined. But no worries, we can still build that prediction model for the next race with a little personal tweak in the code:
if (driver == "Max") { please_dont_slip_again(); }

Apologies if I couldn't incorporate every single detail of the week into this post... I am literally dozing off while typing this sentence. I’m a human being too, guys!

That’s it for this week. See you in the next one (hopefully back on schedule)!

If this chaos somehow resonated with you, go bother a friend with the link.
